Well, it looks like the time has finally come. The time for my Genius Hour project to come to an end. It's bittersweet, but it has been a great five weeks. The idea of taking just a small amount of time each week to work on a personal project is one that I'm sure I'll not only include in future classroom experiences, but also my personal life.
I have used this in-class Genius Hour to research and reflect on educational video games, but it's not the only "Genius Hour"-type activity I have going on in my life right now. I have recently been using Duolingo to try and learn French, and for over 60 days now I have not missed a day of practice. While it isn't an hour of work each day, I've recently realized how similar the idea of setting a few minutes aside each day to learn something new is to the Genius Hour philosophy. I'm sure that, for the rest of my life, completing passion projects or learning new things by setting aside a small amount of time is something I will continue to do. But I digress.
Without further ado, here is my Genius Hour TED-style Talk. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!
Until next time,
😊 Morgan

Hi Morgan, great job with your TedTalk! I like how you went into so much detail around what exactly edutainment was so that people with less familiarity weren't lost once you got into the concepts around our TedTalk. Having played some of these games myself when I was younger it was very interesting to see these games in new light and connect why exactly I did or didn't enjoy them while playing. I think projects like yours will help in greatly improving the ways in which we can deliver educational content to students and keep them engaged. Great job!
