Hello everyone! As I have finished my Genius Hour project, from now on many of my posts will be focused instead on my Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting course.

Now that I've had my first class in this course, I feel as though I have some - but not enough - clarity on the differences between assessment, evaluation and reporting. I know that all three are connected, but different.



I would like to know more about specific assessment and evaluation strategies rather than just overarching concepts. More familiarity with the Growing Success document and my own board's assessment documentation might help me reach this goal, but I am not sure exactly where to look as of yet. Throughout the rest of this course, I would like to see discussion of specific forms of assessment and evaluation (such as checkbrics, rubrics and so on) as well as when it is ideal to use one rather than another. I also want to know what bad assessment looks like. Knowing about common mistakes, misconceptions and other pitfalls will help me to avoid those same errors in my practicum and in my later teaching experiences.
