New April's Resolutions

Well, it looks like I missed the cut-off point for New Year's Resolutions by about three months. I suppose we can't always be winners.

Despite running, you know, 6 fortnights late, I think I'm at a point in the year where it's time for me to make some resolutions. Whether those will carry me through the rest of this year, all the way until next April, or about 10 days remains to be seen. That being said, I'd rather start and fail than never start at all. So here they are: My Mid Year Resolutions

1. Exercise! "Oh," you're probably thinking "--you're just going to grab a bunch of resolutions everyone comes up with at the start of the year, except you're late to it. That's what this post is going to be." Not so! This is a realistic and actionable goal for me, especially considering that exercising more than literally never is not a high bar. Specifically, I want to start with using a stationary bike for 30 minutes, three times a week. While a minimal amount of biking isn't going to radically change my health for the better, it's a starting place I can feel confident about tackling, and which I can genuinely commit to. Additionally, back in late September, we got a dog!

Our little old lady, the nine-year-old Chevy.
We have been doing a lot of walking, but the weather has been cold and rainy as of late. As we head into drier, warmer times, I expect Chevy and I to spend even more time walking together. This will be good for both of us.

2. Write/blog! This is my first attempt at that. I haven't written any blog posts in ages. As I continue through this year, I hope to keep writing posts (maybe at least two a week?). I want to blog about life and all the fun stuff going on in it...starting, soon, with a discussion of my upcoming job at Walt Disney World this summer! More than just blogging, I've already been using my One Line a Day journal every night.

3. Try new recipes! And hopefully blog about them as well. They don't have to be healthy recipes, but they do have to be new. I'm not much of a chef or a baker, but I want to change that. Besides, who can go on Facebook or Pinterest without immediately falling in love with multiple recipes at once??

4. Learn to...drive? That's right, at age 22 I still do not have my driver's license. Whoops! I'm currently completing lessons and have my G1 and am decently on my way. I don't expect to write much about this, considering its relative (hopefully) lack of thrill.

Stay tuned for updates on whether I can manage to achieve even one of these goals, and for details on that job I mentioned...

Until next time,
Morgan 😊
